My GF would love a Dell, but due to her scholarship has to buy it in a store in Quebec, Canada. So I'm asking if any of you are aware of a place to buy Dell product and if possible, can they order a custom built one? For example, I've looked at bestbuy and futureshop and they both show the old studio 1537 at a much higher price tag than on the dell website...

There are some Dell kiosk in shopping centers.

BUT, point a Future shop sales guy to the Dell page and he will match. If she has some sort of student rebate with Dell though F.S. won't match. Plus keep in mind that you could get a substancial rebate speaking with a Dell rep instead of getting the MSRP web price.

IIRC Dell closed all retail locations not so long ago so the phone or a retailer is your best bet. No custom stuff at retailers though and they will of course only carry the bestsellers.

One thing is sure though, is that they are required to match at equal configurations. Could be a little hard for Dell machine though given their configurable nature...

    Good luck!

You may have some more dell options at costco stores.
The selection vaires by store and you can try costco.ca

It appears all their dells have a 2 year warranty and 90 day costco no hassle return policy.

I'm not sure about Quebec, but the few best buys/Costcos I went to in Ontario did not sell ANY dell laptops (which pissed me off). Maybe it's just my area; cause they sell them online.
