    Hey guys,

    I ordered my 1520 on the 30th and it's still in production and the estimated ship date is 7/31!!

    Why is it taking sooooooooo long???

    Loads of people have gotten theres!
    Even the newest people have ship dates of like 22nd!!

    check to see what "stage" its at in production. you have to call the automated order status number. its probably almost ready to be sent

    thats how long mine is taking, a month before it ships. Don't think that your the only one waiting that long to get your notebook.

    Dont worry. Dell will ship early. I ordered on the 30th as well and i just got it yesterday. They shipped mine 20 days earlier than the estimated ship date. Call 1-800-289-3355 to check order status, its more accurate and tells you more than just in production. If you are in boxing stage,it should should ship within a week.

    Not sure if the 8-day delay on those was effective on 6/30, but it certainly wasn't long after that, so that may well be the source of the delay.

    The glossy 1440x900 screen is on serious back order. I canceled my order on the 9th so I could reorder and apply a new $200 EPP coupon. When configuring the laptop, I chose the SWXGA screen and it moved my shipping date up 6 days.

    So, I originally ordered my 1520 on 6/30 with an estimated shipping date of 7/26. I canceled and reordered my 1520 with the SWXGA screen on 7/9 and my estimated shipping date is 7/20.

    So if you ordered with a screen other than the 1440x900 glossy, you're going to have an earlier shipping date.

    Well I'm in boxing...so mines ready to go...just gotta wait for the ship.

    How long does the boxing stage take?
    Does DHL do saturday delivery? I looked on the site, and I think it it says yes.

    I think Dell needs to control their employees actions or at least have someone keep their ass moving. I bet their slacking off a lot. I just ordered a remote yesterday and told people one the forums how to do it and some got it shipped out before I did. We went through same proccess and everything. What the hell is that?

    Yeah, boxing stage could take a bit longer than you think. Because I thought that was the stage that they shipped them from the factory that they were built in, to the factory in the US that actually puts the laptop in the final packaging along with everything else. Mine just entered the boxing stage this morning, so we'll see. Est still says 8/1, but I highly doubt that long.

    So much for "next business day delivery". It was shipped via ground. Gonna ***** about that too.
