Ordered my brand new 1530 on the 28th and have been real excited for that day to arrive, but here's my major problemo:

I forgot to click that silly bluetooth box hiding at the very bottom of the bluetooth menu page in customize!

So, as soon as i noticed this i decided it was time to contact dell, opened up a chat and asked Mr. Dell,

"Can you throw in some bluetooth on my 1530?"
and of course the simple answer was....
"Yes, but you'll need to wait another 3 weeks before you'll ever receive it"

So, as it turns out, I'm really happy about the whole thing :| and am looking for some advice.

    1. Does anyone know if it's possible to just update my laptop with a bluetooth adapter just like Dell would have? Or will i need to send it off for weeks on end to have a single piece put in.

    2. Out of personal experience, what are the great benefits of having bluetooth on your computer? (the only i can really think of is a wireless mouse)

blue tooth for a mouse can some times suck, with lag and such. but u can easily sync ur photos and such from ur cellphone to ur comp fast. as well as bluttoth headphones. u can upgrade it ur self but its gonna involve opening up the laptop a lot. so best u send it in.

it doesnt require much to get to it... just the black panel where the touch buttons are has to come off, the module is located right between the speaker and the keyboard.

This upgrade, which seems (even though the obvious dangers) like a much better decision considering i live in Canada and these dell people don't exactly like us much, would be perfect for me i believe.

Although I've looked around a lot and can't say I've ever seen one. Where exactly did you find it? And what was the price tag?

Because even if it's 50 dollars and dell offers it for 20, it might still be worth it considering the amount on shipping I'll need to pay.

(And if any of what i just said didn't make to much sense in regards to prices, it would be because I'm just guessing i would need to ship it back to the states to get the fix rather than a place in Canada, or i might be wrong!)

For some reason I felt I needed to get bluetooth when I ordered and now that I've learned that gaming mice and bluetooth don't really work out together, I don't know what I'm gonna use the bluetooth for. I guess the pictures on the phone would be cool.

Bluetooth for me is just one of those "just in case" things, but my BT mouse seems to be pretty happy with the card, no lag.

I got refurbished BT 355 from Dell for my Vostro 1400 around last Christmas for $11 shipped. Works great. Easy to install too.

I use those Dell Bluetooth Stereo Headphones for when I'm watching movies. They work great. Bluetooth is also handy for syncing my Sprint Mogul with Outlook...no cables. Lots of great uses for BT beside mice. :)
