    Hi,

On my E1705 I tried to use some CD-R's using Nero. I bought 100 Staples CD-R and they worked well with my old eMachines M6811. I tried to use it with E1705 and I burned out 9 out of 10 CD-Rs. What are you using for Dell notebooks? Which CD-R or which DVD-R?

CD-Rs are not problem, but I don't want to burn out a DVD+R DL... ;)

My recorder is TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L532B.

Taiyo Yudens are widely considered to be the best blank discs, both CDs and DVDs.

That's a Samsung drive. I used to love them but they seemed to have gotten flaky in the past couple of years. If you stay away from generic media you should be OK. It used to be you couldn't find good OEM blank media like the ones zazonz is referring to, but it you look around there are a few stores selling them. They probably make blanks for lots of companies (Memorex, Sony, etc.) but it's hard to tell which ones until you actually get your hands on them.

Usually ones marked Made in Japan are TYs. Verbatims are usually good no matter where they are made.
