I'm a student, do lots of browsing and multi-tasking (nothing heavy though, but sometimes things can get really slow) and just a bit of gaming (maybe a month in a year). I need something with a good battery life (+3:30 hours), light (under 5.5lb), 13-14" screen, a good screen, something durable, a good keyboard, and something that is relatively future-proof. My budget is $1500, plus tax.

Have you visited the Dell website? I'm certain you can spend some time there and configure a laptop that will meet your needs.

Wrong. Like every other website, It won't tell me the accurate battery life, weight, durability, sturdiness of the laptop, etc.

Check out some of the great reviews from this site.

Sticking to notebooks in your price range that offer GPU's since you mentioned gaming,
    Here's the XPS 1210

    Here's the Inspiron E1505
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3137&review=Dell+Inspiron+e1505

    And here the Latitude D620

Are you set on getting a Dell? You might try taking the FAQ and seeing what other suggestions you might get, by posting your anwsers in the "What Should I Buy?" forum.

Also what games will you be playing?

Personally I think the 1210 is the best match for you at the moment. The E1505 maybe a little big and the D620's screen won't compare to either the E1505's or the XPS 1210's. Keep in mind the new Santa Rosa notebooks are coming out if you can wait just a little longer.

The E1505 is a bit big for what the OP is wanting. The D630 might be a good option (Santa Rosa version of the D620) and the XPS M1210 is probably the best choice in the Dell lineup. Theres also the E1405, but that thing is essentially worthless for gaming.

The E1505 won't last 3:30 with the standard battery that comes with the machine. You'd have to upgrade.

The Latitude D630 would be the best choice if you don't mind integrated graphics. If you want a gaming graphics card then it's XPS M1210 (smaller screen though) or look at other brands... maybe Asus.
