Out of curiousity, I'm making a poll to see what types of notebooks people generally buy, and perhaps why?

Feel free to post reasons why you chose that specific line of notebooks. Is it the Price? Versatility? Mobility? Performance? Style? Reviews? etc.

    Inspiron.

Used to buy premium notebooks and keep them for longer. However, nowadays I prefer to buy budget and keep it for 1 and a half to 2 years. What is budget in two years, will typically be better than premium right now, unless you are heavily into gaming. Even then, it's a very fine line.

I bought an XPS M1530 over a year ago, but today I'd probably get a Dell Studio XPS 16 if I were to buy a Dell. Though honestly I think can a better deal elsewhere.

Inspiron for "bang for the buck" and when I got it there were no 17" XPS system (didn't want the 1730) or Studio XPS 16, which is what I would have gotten.

I recently purchased a Studio XPS, it was a better choice over a refurb E6400 of the same price. So price is a factor.

I would replace my 1720 with a Latitude E series and my computer tastes have changed since I got it. I'll probably end up with an Alienware or MBP type, paired with an Inspiron/Studio/Latitude.

    While I own a Studio 15, I think I would have preferred a Studio XPS 16.

They both fit basically the same niche (multimedia, music, videos, etc.), but the Studio XPS line is like a deluxe version of the Studio. The gamer in me would benefit quite nicely from the significantly more powerful ATi 4670 in the Studio XPS 16 compared to the 4570 in my Studio 15.

As it is, I couldn't be happier with my Studio 15. It's a beautiful laptop, and it does everything I want it to do quite nicely. I just wish I had a budget generous enough to allow me to take things a step further. ^_^

Studio XPS for power and portability and style. XPS for performance. And Precision for just sjlkjdfjlkdlsfkj. I love Precisions. Never owned one though. The one I want is WAYYYY out of my budget.

Having had vostros, inspirons and XPS machines, I would say they are all pretty good but I'm gonna go with inspiron just because of the bang for the buck you get.
