I just got my replacement E1505.

I used Everest and Powerstrip. I checked my service tag online with Dell and I checked my invoice. I examined my Hardware Properties.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what LCD I have.

My last screen was SEC (Samsung Electronics Corporation) but, reviewing the other thread on LG v. Samsung (and the mysterious 3rd Chinese supplier) I can't see any hint as to what LCD I have.

This LCD seems noticeably better (brighter, and less finicky viewing angles), that's why I'm so curious.

I also got an NEC burner which has solved all my DVD woes from my previous Sony which would not read my DVD-R collection (would hang my computer) and could not burn DVD-R either, all coasters.

So, I'm like, no way I went 2 for 2! (LG and NEC > Samsung and Sony)

XD570 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WSXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., GLARE WIDE VIEWING ANGLE, LENGTH/LONG

Searching this string, it does seem like I have the LG.

It's def brighter, and has better viewing angles than the Samsung on the one I'm sending back.

It's like the lottery up in here today!

Replacement has both the LG and an NEC burner.
