You have to tell us what you do with your computer. Otherwise we can't recommend any specs to you.

Then you don't need a powerhouse notebook.

The 1.8GHz w/ 2gb of ram will be more than enough for your needs.

You can even save some money by going down to the 1.6GHz cpu, but don't skimp out on the wireless card, get the best they offer.

    Thanks.

Pls. tell me more about the 'wireless card' ?
Has it got to do something with Web Connectivity ?

Does it already come with the laptop or do i buy it seperately ?

    This is what I ordered:

    1 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 (2.00GHz) 4M L2 Cache, 800MHz Dual Core
1 14.1 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ LCD Panel
    1 2.0GB, DDR2-667 SDRAM, 2 DIMMS
    1 Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    1 120GB Hard Drive, 9.5MM, 7200RPM
    1 Standard Touchpad
1 Genuine Windows Vista® Business, with media
1 Dell Wireless® 360 Bluetooth Module for Vista
    1 Dell Slim 65W Auto/Air/AC Adapter
    1 24X CD-RW/DVD w/ Cyberlink PowerDVD™
    1 Dell Wireless™ 1505 Draft 802.11n Mini Card
1 Microsoft® Office 2007 Basic and Adobe Acrobat 8.1 STD
1 Resource DVD - Contains Diagnostics and Drivers for Vista
1 6 Cell Primary and 6 Cell Media Bay Batteries

Get the 4965 Intel wireless card over the Dell---call to order it if you have to. There seems to be more support for the Intel, and Dell already has an update for the 4965 to solve old issues.

I have not tested the Bluetooth, yet.

2 MB of RAM just isn't enough anymore... I'd go for something more like 2 GB. ;) If you want to save $100 or so, you can order the minimum RAM and upgrade it yourself (i.e. from newegg.com).

WXGA is the resolution that most 14" laptops have; WXGA+ is denser, so text will appear smaller but you can fit more of it on the screen.

Video: Get the dedicated graphics if you want to play 3D games; otherwise get the x3100 for best battery life.

    OS: I suggest Vista Business.

Hard drive: I think 80 gb would be enough unless you have a large music and/or video library. Then go for 120 or 160 gb. The 7200 rpm drives will make it a bit snappier but add a little noise.

Processor: Up to you... obviously the faster ones are a little faster, but any of them should be fine really.
