Which colour do you like best for the 1420/1520/1521/1720/1721?

I really had a hard time choosing between Spring Green, Alpine White, and Flamingo Pink. I finally decided on Spring Green since was worried the white might show dirt and that the pink would be too girly for me. Plus, the combination of green and silver and black reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream (what a way to choose a notebook color, lol).

I'm debating between midnight blue and other colors, mainly jet black. I love blue as a color but I don't want to "get sick of it" if you get what I'm saying. I'd only choose black because it is a more neutral color. In reality, I have no idea which I'm choosing yet.

Sure, but if everything is black we won't have any objects left to reflect sunlight. So we will be wandering in darkness.... Red, on the other hand, is more enlighting :)

I like the spring green too, but I'm afraid it might be too girly. :-/

The only ones I really liked were red, blue, and black. I guess the brown would be good if you had a brown Zune or something.

I like the espresso brown. I wish they had a darker shade of green, if they did I would take that. My favorite color is purple, but I think that would make for an ugly notebook :)

I hate to be politically incorrect, but I think it IS pretty girly. It's just so pastel. I personally would love to have seen a nice, rich forest green for you guys (and maybe even for me).

Well, I'm a girl ;). Would it make me a real girl to use the pink one?

Edit: LOL, looks like Gloomster beat me to the dark green idea.

Just ordered today and needed about half an hour to make my final decision about the colour. Firstly I tended to green and red, but finally I ordered blue; think blue is fancy and moreover you don't get tired of it too soon.

Someone should inform Dell that Dark green is a winner. Also, it appears that so far no one likes yellow. Big shocker on that one!

if the yellow was all black and yellow with maybe some small silver accents, then it might be acceptable, as a sort of "bumble bee" color scheme. still obnoxious, but if done classily (eg. lamborghini laptop) it might sell better.

other than that, red, blue, and black are nice. they should offer plain silver as the base though...

im fine with my "latitude grey" though. :D

I dont know what a real girl is... I'm a computer nerd.

Personaly, i think they need darker colors. AND AN ORANGE!!! But the "grass stain green" that they have looks kinda cool though.

Did anyone notice that Dell made all the colors cost $18 more than the Jet Black option? Just yesterday they were all (" Only $0 more dollars"), today it says (" Add $18").

For me, its down to 4.
    Red, Blue, Yellow and Black.

Black is obviously the safe choice for everyone, since its about as generic and neutral as can be for electronic devices.

I personally like the yellow, but i know some people see it as a girly colour, and that kinda bugs me.

Red and blue both look sleek and sexy, but i get the feeling they are going to be the most common ones sold, and end up being the generic colour. After all, dell themselves has used red to advertise ALL their new laptops(inspiron and XPS)

My current laptop is a metallic teal/turquoise, and i hate it. I only bought it because it was the only colour futureshop stocked... needless to say, its turned me off any shade of green for probably the rest of my life :p

I voted for Jet Black. Plain black is classic, and it looks great in my current ThinkPad even though it's entirely matte. If the interior of the new Dells were black, I'd choose Jet Black without a doubt.

Midnight Blue is a close second. It actually looks good, and having had blue desktops for years I don't think I'd tire of it. It is slightly more expensive though.

Inspiron e1505 Silver would be my third choice. Some people couldn't stand them, but I thought they looked pretty good, especially in person. But the magnesium alloy build makes up for a closer color match to the interior.

Espresso brown is OK, but not as good as black. Plus I don't like coffee, so I don't like the name.

All the others reflect too much of the garish light of day.

I was deciding between the Red, white, and pink. Red is just a nice, bold, solid color. White just looks refreshing and clean... and well, pink is a bit attention-whorish but I don't think many people will have it, plus I think it'll add a nice accent to whatever room I'm using it in. And I do plan to be lame and stick stickers and stuff there. After all, it's my PERSONAL lap top, not for anything else.

Well you all can bash Yellow all you want, but I just ordered my 1520 with a yellow top. I am a pretty happy person, and I like to show it. Even at work (i'm a server) I wear bright colors, and people laugh about it some times, but hey, that right there makes it worth it. Plus I think the yellow is just the right shade, although I would have been much happier with an orange. I like the color green, just not the shade they did it in. A neon green or a forest green (but not toooo dark) would have been nice.

Ordered my 1420 yesterday in ruby red. I had ordered a new red sony CR and those look better. But the bigger HD, bluetooth -not available on CR- better waranty and higher resolution made the red 1420 shine. Got all that for the same price. These are a good deal. Also the red color did not cost extra when I ordered yesterday.

Does anyone know what finish the black has? I know that the non standard colors have a micro satin finish. Does that equate to a glossy finish? OR does the black have a glossy / shiny finish like the HP's and the Sony's?

Espresso Brown for me. I think I'll get sick of the Green and Blue eventually, even though I like them now, but I think the Brown will be demure and sleek even after I've had it for years.

    quick question:
What is the difference between the "System Color" option and the "LCD back color" option (listed under the "camera" option with the webcams). Is the system color the bottom half of the laptop, and the LCD back color the top half? Because only the LCD back color options are listed as "premium soft touch" which leads me to assume that that refers to the top, outer casing.

I'm buying my 1520 today, but I'm still having trouble choosing the colour. I want the red, but I'm thinking it might be too flashy. I like the clean look of black, but I would prefer it glossy. I really wish I could find some pictures of the laptops that aren't the dell product shots to get a better idea of how it looks.

Black matte finish! I debated for a good hour or two between the green and the espresso, but since they spelled it incorrectly as expresso on the dell site, I just couldn't support bad spelling.

I think those colours are awesome and long overdue, but black bottom, silver interior, coloured exterior is just too much rainbow effect for me. Gotta have some style. It's like wearing white shoes with black pants and a red sweater. If it's brand new- or to be used as a circus outfit it could look decent but after time passes it just looks tacky.

On the other hand, who cares, its just a laptop
