Well, i currently own a 1420 with a 9 cell battery. The thing is pretty heavy for a 14' laptop i would said...

My laptop is unable to ran too many new games (8400GS 128mb), and i've beginning to think about selling mine and getting an XPS1530 because of the 8600GT DDR3

Is the 1530 lighter and thinner than a 1420? Cause if that is true, that would really make me interested in the change...

BTW, i would get an xps1530 with 6 cell because i dont like the way 9 cell "lifts" the laptop...

    thanks

the 1420 is heavier by 0.1 pounds, but it is defintely much thinner, and the design is much more impressive, Oh, and the 8600M GT uses GDDR3 memory instead of DDR2 :)

I think you can look in the manuals/specs to find the weights of the laptops and their batteries.

    Lol. This is confusing!

I was speaking to the poster named "XPS1330" about him referring to the XPS 1530, as he posted saying the 1420 was thinner, more attractive, and had more graphics power.

    Lol. :D

My input though: It amounts to the extra cash for a slightly larger footprint, a more attractive design, and much more GPU power if you're comparing the 1420 with the 1530.
