I am really struggling here guys, and I want your opinions. I ordered a E1505 in may, still hasn't shipped, its specs are:
    T7200 proc
    Radeon X1400
1 gig 667MHz (gonna upgrade to 2 gigs later)
    80 gig 7200 RPM
    Bluetooth
    G-wireless
    Vista Premium
    15.4 WXGA w/truelife
    DVD-RW
    9Cell batt
    Carbon Fiber QuickSnap
These are the specs without all the extra BS.
Total = 1016.64 shipped (tax and all)
plus I have next day shipping due to all the delays

Now the dilemma I have is that I like the new chipset, and faster FSB on the new procs. I like the magnesium casing, plus come on, the color thing is kinda cool.

So given as close as possible specs to this with the new lappy (1520) it is a little over $1600. I obviously would have to wait for a $500 off coupon, or a special equivalent or better then that to get the new one. Is it really worth the wait? Is it worth the $100-200 extra? Or should I just get my 1505 and be happy? I did spec it how I wanted other then the ram... So what do you guys think I should do? Any idea as to how long before they might actually run a special/coupon that would be = to or >500?

Oh yeah, the 1505 is due to ship the 15th, which really means the 16th since it's a sunday.

I game a little, but I don't mind the fps and settings to be low so the X1400 should work for me. The only game I want to run that I don't know if it will run is UT2007.

The 1520 with the GeForce 8600GT is going to be way more future proof in terms of gaming.

Plus it has new magnesium chassis, SR chipset/CPU update, and other changes. It does not make sense to buy 1505 unless you can get it for significantly cheaper (and then I would wait for next batch of coupons).

But if you look at the first post, I did get it for significantly cheaper. Barely over $1000 shipped, and the 1520 was a little over $1600 shipped. If they would just come out with a coupon for $500 off it would be no question, but I don't want to wait to long because I want the notebook for fall quarter. I originally bought it for spring/summer, but by the time it ships all but 1 class will be over, and that's a math class. So I can wait a short time, but I don't want to cancel my order and find out that I can't afford a notebook in a month, because the best coupon they come out with is a $200 off coupon. With that info, you now see my dilemma. Does anyone know how long I have once I receive my laptop to return it just in case they do come out with a coupon?

Also, what is all the hype about the fourth? Do they generally have good sales on the fourth? or is everyone just thinking they will?

ok, they brought out a $350 coupon, and with some changes in configuration, I was able to bring the cost to less then $200 extra for the newer one, while still maintaining the majority of the performance. The biggest loss I had was going from the 7200 rpm HDD to the 5400 rpm hdd, but if I understand correctly, the way Vista prefetches things, that should not show up as much now as it would have before.
