I need a well build laptop with a discrete portability for a programming/office usage only.

    I'm undecided among these models.

Which is the "best" considering mainly build and keyboard quality ?

The price is 600 euro for 1400 and 700 euro for other two models.

I have a little experience with programming. I like using a big monitor for it.

With that said, I would go for a Vostro 1500/1510 or Inspiron 1525. 15'' wide screen is great for programing on a laptop.

But 1500 is really too much "heavy" for me.
So I prefer a so-so portable laptop like the 1400 model or a more portable like the 1310.

The problem is that I don't know if the 1310, in terms of build and keyboard quality is at the same level of vostro 1400 and 1525.

Vostro has better build quality then Inspirons. I would go for the 1400>1525>1310

Did You have the opportunity of compare the 1400 and 1525 ?

The build and keyboard quality of the 1400 are really superior than those of 1525 ?

Another point is that... I prefer mat and not smooth surfaces...

Keyboards are the same with the 1400 and 1525 minus color. Some (including my self) prefer vostro keyboards due to less noticible shine and slip. both of little if any flex.

General build quality of the Vostro line has been great compared to the mediocre Inspirons.

what do you mean by mat? matte? the vostro is not as shiny as the inspiron since you have to take into consideration its all very sleek black while the whole interior of the inspiron is silver (bright)

Matte screen (I'll use the laptop only for office/programming) but matt and coarse surfaces/lid, too.

Sigh... I'm already really undecided among these laptops... but in the scrum I'considering also R61 and 6510B.

The better price I've found is however for the 1400 that I'd pay "only" 600 euro configured with T8100, WXGA screen (Or is better to choose the WXGA+ ?) and 2 gb. of ram, while R61 *T7250 and 1 gb of ram) costs me approx 740 euro and the same for 6510B (T7250 and 1 gb of ram) and 1310 (T8100 and 2 gb of ram).

The priority, for me, are build and keyoboard quality but also a discrete portability is wellcome...
