Hello, please advice on the following. I just decided to buy a 1520 with a 128 Mb graphic card and 1440x900 screen and now they're out... So what to do? Get a 1525 (with only integrated graphics) or upgrade to xps 1530? Have been reading here to get some tips but don't know that much about computers.... I want to replace my old inspiron 8200 (1600x1200 resolution, 64MB geforce graphics, no clue what processor speed...). What do I do: ms office, photoshop cs2 and illustrator (picture editing), internet (mostly >5 windows open), no gaming....
Furthermore is 110 euro's (150$) worth while to get T7500 instead of T7250, I think not after reading a previous post on this.... Or is both overdone? I still could get a 1520 with T5250 and integrated graphic card
Thanks, Helma

if ur in United states the 1530 has a promo going on so its a better deal than the other and the new inspiron 1525 is worst than the 1520 expect better looking, so if ur want in between the 1520 and 1525 u should get the 1530

Looking at your tasks, my recommendation is that you simply look in your weekly ads for a good deal on a 15" HP notebook with a Core 2 Duo. You're going to pay much more for the Dell brand name (lol) for lower end computers, which is what you're looking at.
I recommend one of the lower end Core 2 Duos and the integrated graphics for what you need. You won't need to spend over $1000 for the amount of computer you want.
2GB of memory is a must though, but that's easy enough to buy on the internet (usually Newegg.com gets you the best deal) and install yourself. -
-_- u can't do any high quality picture editing and photoshop with an intergrated graphics -_-

Geez, why do people make up facts in their minds and them post them?
Get the 1525 and save your money. You get absolutely nothing with the XPS that you would notice a difference. -
You might phone to make sure that the dedicated GPU you wanted is indeed unavailable for the 1520. You can often get options by phone that are not shown on the website.
-
For your requirements either one will do. Did you take a look at Vostro 1500? It is identical to i1520 except for the color (software and warranty options may also differ).
As for the processor, I don’t think you’ll notice a difference worth of $150 for what you do (unless you frequently batch process a large number of high quality images in PS etc..) -
If it was me, I would just get the inspiron and save money. I have an inspiron e1505 and a recently purchased xps m1330. I like them both and don't really notice a huge difference between them since I don't do gaming or a ton of media stuff, which it seems like they were kind of built for.
In fact, the only reason that I got the xps m1330 (still have the inspiron and it works perfectly), is that it was the smallest Dell that I could find. If there was a smaller inspiron, I would have just gotten that. -
So I'm really confused on what u meant by promo
Which one to order new inspiron 1525 or xps1530?
