I am going to buy a Vostro 1400 very soon and if I get one with a screen that has this graininess issue or light bleed issue and I want to replace it I had a few questions.

Which one should I replace it with? I heard SEC, AUO, LG all mentioned but wasn't sure which is best. Could I get model # and brand so I know exactly which one.

And also I read a forum about people having luck in calling up and requesting an exact LCD after they have got there laptop instead of while ordering. Does this work? What do they say?

You can not request an LCD, it's luck of the draw.

Dell don't take requests on LCD's like the guy above said.

You should get the laptop first, then worry about those things after.
