I don't want to spend anymore than I need to but at the same time I want decent sound quality. Is it worth shelling out an extra 25 for the Integrated Sound Blaster® AudigyHD Software Edition or even 75 for the Creative Labs Express Sound Card?
Or perhaps the best option is to stick to the High Definition Audio 2.0?

stick with the stock high def one. the other two are both software and will use up more cpu cycles.
-
"Creative Labs Express Sound Card" is a software solution? The name of it makes it sound like it is a hardware solution, like an ExpressCard or something.
-
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Confusing...
-
Its a piece of hardware but it still does not have its own processor on it. This was stated on another topic. So it depends on what you want it for.
-
I found another discussion which says that when they ordered that option, it said it was the X-Fi ExpressCard:

Yes its hardware. it might make your stuff sound better then the normal onboard but it might use more cpu cycles.
-
However, the thick part of the card with audio jacks will stick out.
-
Nevermind, I was wrong. The x-fi expresscard doesn't actually have the X-fi chip in it. So I think majortom is correct.
