I recently bought a Dell D620 with integrated Intel 3945 ABG card.

I love the machine, but when I am on battery power with the wireless card on the card makes a high pitched whining noise. It comes from the side of the system with the card and the speaker. I know the wireless card must be causing this because with the hardware switch off the noise stops. A friend suggested that the speaker is picking up interference from the card and is making a noise as a result. I've used other Dells with the same card built in and this has never happened.

I've tried disabling the PC speaker and sound card to no avail. New 3945 drivers haven't done anything. Anyone have an idea of what's going on here?
