My 700m display seems to have died. A few months ago, it had gotten to the point where everything on it would freeze, colored bars would show up, and the screen would fade to white. I could flex and twist the display a little before it came back. It got worse and worse, until finally it turned completely white. There are a shades of white lines throughout.

When I plug in the computer to a CRT, I can use it fine. So I just want to know if replacing the screen will fix this issue, since I've found some new ones online.

(Note: warranty's expired, so I can't turn it in to Dell)

I would suggest that you browse the services guides, find out how to take your computer apart, and reseat the LCD connections to the motherboard. The fact that screwing around and twisting the screen could at one point fix it tells me you have something loose in there.

I agree, since you'll need a working knowledge of that stuff anyway if you're going to replace the LCD.
