Just curious as to what the exact long term dissatisfaction with Dell from the people on this board is. For me personally, I would have to think long and hard before buying something from them again.

I still plan on buying stuff from Dell. I mean, this is only the first time I've ever had any issues. I figure since these laptops are new and that school is starting soon, there are bound to be some delays.

I'll still buy from Dell. I've bought many computers from them in the past, and have never had the delay issues I'm currently experiencing. They have a very good product, so I'm gonna stick with them. I'm not too happy w/them right now b/c of all the delays, but I'm not going to stop buying their computers b/c of it.

I know Dell will take care of me down the road and I'll get the value out of my system. I will continue to buy here!

Was I dissatisfied with the delays? Sure. But you have to be realistic. We're all buying hot new items at the same exact time when there is a shortage of LCD screens in the ENTIRE market and the paint process for the different colors is new to Dell. I think Dell figured these laptops would be hot sellers, but no one could have guessed that they would sell as much or as fast as they are. I've had a 9 year old desktop, my mom's laptop, and my sister's laptop, all from DELL, as well as a Dell Digital Jukebox, and some other products from them and they've been fabulous. So yes, I would buy from Dell again.

i'll wait and see what happens with my order before I vote... I might have looked at a few other places had I knows about the delays and issues, but I haven't had a delay yet (fingers crossed) so I can't really say anything bad about them personally unless I have a delay... But I understand why people are getting upset. It seems like they wanted to communicate about the M1330 and the delays with that on their blog, but they've said nothing about the Inspirons when clearly there is a problem...

The delays is not an issue. The leverl of customer service is an issue. I'm not sure I'm very comfortable with Dell's customer service.

When I ask them for the title and name of a person to contact above them they make it harder than pulling teeth. I have to ask three or four times, and then they very grudgingly provide the requested information. I have no idea why. I mean if Dell wants to improve customer service they should appreciate my willingness to contact higher ups.

I know its been a long wait. But they make a Fantastic Product. Wouldn't you be mad if you waited this long for a Compaq?
