I have a stock m1530. I get 4316 marks using the free edition of 3DMark06. I tried various drivers, but the highest marks I got was from the 174.31 driver from Dell (under the Inspiron 1520 section.) I get an increase of about 300 marks (4628), and this is at stock. The idle temps I recorded was 62*C, which is somewhat high, but the fan isn't always on, so it doesn't bother me. Max fans tend to start up at around 67. When I'm gaming, it shoots up to 72 but levels off at 66-68. I see a much higher frame rate, and the temps seem to be within range. The previous driver had the same idle temps. I didn't adjust the temps on RivaTuner.
I did no overclocking. I just tried various drivers but this was the best one. The next best one was 174.74 from laptopvideo2go.
Has anyone else tried this, and are you getting the same results as me? When I submitted my score, no one had the same configuration as me. Maybe it's because I'm using the free version? I need someone to compare with.
