Who has waited the longest? (Inspiron & XPS)

i just joined the forum - ordered a blue 1520 inspiron July 9th and still waiting...(their 4th delay put it at September 13th..)

 

Can you add me in? Not the longest, but actually one of the shortest for Dell Inspirons.

Judging from your list, I think I have the shortest wait time for a 1420. Mine is Alpine White by the way.

Ordered 08/08, Recieved 08/21 , a total of 13 days!

It would have been 12 days if DHL did not have a sorting problem in the local hub! It was literally about 30 minutes away from my house, but they had a problem with the scanner on 08/20 thats why they couldnt deliver it that day!

 

Mine is finally in Testing stage

Just got pushed to 9/27/07...

Ordered Pink 1420 on July 10.

 

I'm not quite sure how this happened, but my 1720 date is listed in the M1330 section. It even says 1720 in the specs though.

 

chyeah - I had to draw the line at July 15 or the list would just be too huge.

Just received my fourth delay notice. It's supposed to ship Sept. 11.

 

I know you had to draw the line somewhere but mine is a day later and is on 46 days now. Maybe you should remove those below 30 and keep them in the another thread.

mtylerjr, I enjoyed this thread because it gave me some hope I'd be getting mine next by comparing my specs with others, however the 1520/1521 section has played out it's usefulleness, but then again you majored in History and not Current Events. Am I right?

Please consider renaming the title to "Still Waiting on Orders Placed before July 15th," otherwise may I suggest deleting those that have received or cancelled their orders longer than two-weeks ago and add those that have waited at least 30-days, but then again I'm not the OP.

Im one of the longer "still waiting" Inspiron 1520 people. Not gonna say owner...because I own nothing at this point.

 

I bet no one bought this system. I ordered the e1405 with a promo. ordered it 7/31. still havent got it due to the lcd back order. This is sad cuz this is an old model.

 

Originally ordered on 7/14 but I noticed on the confirmation they didn't give me the price they quoted so I had to reorder on the 20th.

 

My m1330 has finally shipped today.

60 days to this point..not sure what delivery i have though so it could be a few more yet.

 

hey, want to add me? Ordered 7/15 and still waiting. If my calculations are correct it will be 50 days tomorrow (9/3) ... which is really sad. My current EDD is 9/5, which i know is not going to happen.

 

Mine got shipped today too (surprisingly on a Sunday / Labor day weekend)...

Why is it a surprise? Its not labor day weekend in Malaysia or Ireland. Or in any other country.

 

Id cancel if i were you. Thats ridicoulous. I would fight to get it Free or something. That means your gonna spend over 1/4 of a year waiting for something you already paid for. Thats 104 days.

 

that is ridiculous. look at the first page of this thread. people that ordered after you (july 15th) already recieved theirs last week. I think should call them up and ask why your's, in particular, is taking so long. I mean you have proof in the first page that people are recieving your type of laptop.

 

My m1330 shipped on 9/2, should be here on 9/5, I originally ordered it on 7/8. I'm not going to keep it though, might try to sell it locally or on the forums, or just return it to Dell (bought a Sony SZ650).

I'm contacted last week by a Dell representative and he just said I have to wait some longer I said if I dont have it next week I will cancel my order because I need it for school. He completely agrees with me He also thinks it would be better to order somewhere else if i need it for school
If I dont have it this week I'm ordering a HP or a Vaio

If I didn't really want the 1330 so much I would have canceled and bought something else, but the fact is that I'm really looking forward to getting mine ... eventually. Anyway, I'm at day 63 for my order and if it ships when they say it will, I'll have had a 78 day wait (+1 day for shipping).

 

FYI... it's just possible that DELL has a metric which measures their performance on how many "pushes" each customer receives. So, in order to minimize the pushes, they start using parts ordered for earlier customers to fulfill the demands for later orders. This minimizes the actual number of customers experiencing pushes, but sacrifices the older orders/customers. So not a true metric, but a number they can hold up and say "even through this, only X number of people were effected." Problem is, I'm one of the "X's".

Would someone care to comment?

 

Finally, mine is shipped without being noticed by dell. I checked on the website and found that they have ship it. I should recieve it on Wednesday.

they better be in great shape! I'd hate to have to get a replacement at this point.

If not, can a real "businessman" explain if this is anyway to run a company?

 

I do work for a fortune 25 company. Most businesses wouldn't do this to customers. This suggestion caught be by suprise. It came from the same saleperson at DELL who sold me the computer in the first place.

Yes I am a real businessman. Integrity, honor, take my lumps and keep on working. But I'm honest with my customers. Not sure we're getting smae treatment from DELL.

Again, DELL salesperson suggested this to me. Didn't make it up myself.

 

that question occured to me too. So far, this experience for me has cast Dell in a new light.

My order shipped as of 09/01 but because of the holiday weekend I probably won't see it until tomorrow. DHL doesn't have any information other than the generic "Shipment Acknowledged" status.

Still good news. I thought I might hit the two month mark with this order...

 

Ordered July 16th, received (presumably based on tracking) September 5th, for a total of 51 days. Do I get a cookie for waiting?
