Who has waited the longest? (Inspiron & XPS)

7/16 still in build... i win!@!!!

 

I am waiting for my replacement XPS m1330 which was only ordered on Aug. 16 so not as long as some, but I called in today to see what the EDD was as I can't get any information online, the nice dell lady I talked to said they are now delayed 60 business days. I wonder if they will extend the warranty as the delays are getting longer and longer and mine is a replacement so my warranty would probably be from when I first recieved it on Aug. 8.

 

No one wins until they recieve their laptop or have it provided free by Dell.

Ordered on 7/12 and still in build, but Order Modification promised it will ship by tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.

aah if yours shipped today, then mine will be shipping in 6 days! Or am i thinking to logical here

 

who would believe, the word boxing is actually used when I call the US phone line for automated update. Anyone know how long typically from boxing to ship?

I dont think yours will be shipped in 6 days Because Dell doesn't watch the order date. They will produce when they have enough orders and enough at stock

If it is possible, I would like to be added to the waiting list. I ordered my computer in my sign the 29 June 2007 from Dell in Sweden. Waiting time at the moment = 67 days...!

If the users MigHunter (ordered 27 June) and Pjankovic (ordered 28 June) have not received their XPS M1330 yet, I think I have waited longest so far - and I am still waiting...

 

Snake Dragon have you contacted Dell about this or they contacted you about your delay? I know that they withdrew the 2.4 processor in Europe and pretty much everywhere else because of some issues. I know that some people who ordered the 2.4 in Europe have had their orders cancelled and rebooked because of a chip error. Your processor maybe well holding you up.
Maybe they will get it out to you now though as they have just started to offer this processor in some countries again.

 

SHIPPED!!! Looks like I will receive it Saturday, although there is a chance it will come Friday.

Yes, I have contacted Dell several times (about 15 times by phone and 10 times by e-mail), both customer service and my sales person. Customer service said that the screen was missing/out of stock therefore my order has not entered the building stage yet..... BULL****! My sales person contacted the factory in Ireland and got the answer that the 9 cell battery is missing... BULL****!

About the processor, I have asked them (both customer service and my sales person) about this matter and they said back in July and August that I would still get my 2,4 GHz processor. You say that some countries have just started to offer this processor, hum..... could it be because of the price of the processor dropped by about $285 yesterday (about 2000 SEK)?

I have also asked customer service and my salesperson if I could change my processor to the Intel T7500 2,2 GHz processor, but they said that if I did that, they would have to redo my order and I would have to wait even longer.

Yesterday I talked with the head of sales department and pointed out that many people in Sweden ordered their laptops after me but somehow received them before me. He said that he would look into the problem and "prioritize the prioritization" that, according to customer service, already is maximum prioritized because of the long waiting time.

I hope I will receive my computer really soon... Going to college without a laptop (while everybody else has one) is extremely frustrating (I do not have a laptop).

Do any of you have any tips or anything that could help me?


In Sweden, there is several people that ordered their XPS M1330 laptops last week 28th of August and got them shipped yesterday, 4th of september. A total waiting time of about 1½ week or 10/11 days. WTF..?!

Snake Dragon they have been offering the 2.4 processor in Australia for about 7 days at least now.
If your case has already not be escalated to the escalations team you could request that it is.
Or if you want to you could try contacting someone from here at example [email protected] it might be worth a shot. If you contact either michael dell or Mr Marmonti with a complaint somebody from executive relations may well contact you back.
Maybe then you may get to find out what is really going on about your processor.

I have been waiting a while also right now i believe that i am 61 days but i am giving Dell up to Friday before i cancel.

I think they upgraded me to overnight shipping. Which is lame if that's all I get.

Received my Spring Green 1521 @ 3:10pm this afternoon. As far as I can tell, there is no graininess and everything is working properly.

 

Received BROKEN (!) today (September 5th). Oh lucky me. The wait was worth it. See here

 

I was on the previous list but i don't see my name on the current but regardless i finally recieved my notebook today.

Ordered 6/30 and shipped 9/1

 

I got my 1720 today (9/5). I ordered it back on 7/10. 57 days!

Thank goodness I like the machine!

 

I have finally received my laptop on 9/5!

 

Ordered 7/16, just reached boxing stage. Supposedly ship on 9/22. Believe it when I see it.

I ordered mine on the 07JULY, after about a month..they CANCELLED IT! and made a new order without my permission!!! So it started all over again from 07AUGUST to 17thSEPTEMBER!

Though I am not on your list, I was one of the Longest Waiters as I just finished in at 53 days.
