What's the quality like on these 1680x1050 panels? Has anyone noticed any graininess or any other strange issues like excessive backlight bleeding? I'm looking to order very soon, there was a little discussion on this and people seemed happy but it was not specific in any way.

I just got my 1680x1050 display and it looks a whole lot better than the 1280x800. the blacks are richer and viewing angles have improved drastically.

the main thing i find bothersome is that there is a gloss coat over the screen which makes a weird grainy-look to everything. other than that the screen is a bit duller than the 1280. the brightest available at the moment would be the 1440x900 screen.

Who makes your screen? I have a Samsung and it is fine just could be a bit brighter. I was wondering how bright the LG would be?
