I hope they are easy with mine. Also, how long does it usually take, from when they get there to when they leave?
-
while i havent had it done
id guess it'd take noe more than a half hour
and if they scratch anything, they'll be replacing that part too!~ -
lol, anyone else?
-
are u gonna bump ur thread every 5 min?
-
Until I get some answers, sure
-

the dell guy was really fat and was eating cheetoes while he was inside my laptop. so now there is orange cheese everywhere on this thing and i dont know what to do... oh noes... seriously wtf do you want someone to say. dells techs are all certified. they take a reasonable amount of care and do good work. if thats not good enough then idk what you want. god you are too anal about your laptop..
-
Don't they go through a third party for on site repair?
-
I know I'm anal about my laptop. I just want it to be perfect.
-
they are dell employed sorta. they get the parts overnighted to their homes and then they take them to the peoples houses. they are all dell certified technicians and know the laptops well. if they mess something up, they will order a new part and come back the next day or in 2 days if it cant be mailed by the next day. they are very good and dont want you calling dell complaining about anything so just ask him/her to be careful and im sure you will be more than satisfied.

-
They did a very good job last time when I had them fix my E1705.
-
some techs leave the site with parts all over the place. even just literally install the part and leave. no test whatsoever, then they go ask the customer to call dell techsupport.
parts get sent to the 3rd party provider's warehouse then the assigned tech picks it up there. only then they call the enduser for appointment. -
the guy's coming today
-
-
please keep us posted i may go this way next time rather than keep sending these things back

I had a screen replaced (and the internal batt too) at my house on my Inspiron 6000. Took twenty minutes, guy was extremely efficient and competent. I'd go this way again if I needed something replaced.

somebody from malaysia had his screen change in mcd. -
zfactor
unless you have onsite service, you cannot have the computer serviced at home. -
yes you can if you scream loud enough... lol they will do it for you
-
i've had it done. it was kinda an iffy experience. the guy was kinda careless with the screen, i didnt like how he kept touching it. i usually flip out and go on a cleaning spree when i bump my screen, but thats just me. he did make sure he wiped his hands on a cloth tho so nothing huge. but yeah make sure he doesnt seem to be in too big of a hurry cuz he didnt seat my cables properly and he just left, and it took till the next day to get another guy over to fix that problem.
Who's had their screen replaced in-home by Dell? Were they gentle? Did they scratch anything, etc?
