Well, good ole' 9300 may you rest in peace, it's gone from dell home and office.... sooner then imagined.....

The replacement e1705 is so far prohibitively expensive, and the coupons don't work for them, we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Wow....so that really sucks. I think Dell will either release coupons for the E1705 or they will be releasing the newer lappys that were on their spreadsheet someone found.

Man...just got my lappy last month....now they don't even sell them anymore. :(

Yesterday they were gone from the Small Business side but not form Home. Now it's totally gone. I ordered mine yesterday from a week old quote. I think I got in right under the radar so to speak. I hope to hell it processes through. The status hasn't shown any problems yet.

I'm getting it from a friend who works at Dell and I am getting a wonderful price. If this order does not make it I will be forced to get a 9400 and that will cost me a good $300-$400 more to make the equivalent system.

    Hope hope...

I just ordered my 9300 Tuesday morning. Got a pretty screaming deal through work. It is currently in boxing stage. Good thing I did not put if off any longer....

I got mine one month ago and three days later the 9400 was announced. I emailed Dell and asked about returning mine, how disappointed I was to have what appeared to be an orphan, and the guy offered me a $50 coupon. I said $75 would give me a bag so they offered me that which I accepted.

I thought about returning it but it was a 15% restocking hit, or about $200. For the higher cost of the 9400 + $200 I didn't see the value in the new one, especially since it doesn't come with the 6800.

We got an excellent computer at a great price, and it will serve us well for many years. No regrets here, with or without my $75 kicker.

Dell is pretty good about giving you something free if you're dissatisfied. I ordered my E1705 w/ 25% on 1/30 through EPP and found the 30% coupon on 1/31 and tried calling but they were already closed so the coupon expired and on 2/1 after about an hour and half and 8 different reps I finally got a free DJ Ditty and It will be here tomorrow!! :) I just wish it was my E1705 that would be here tomorrow but it's looking like at least Monday.

The $650 works for the E1705 single core but not the duo...a plus with the singl core is that the 256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 7800 is available.

Well, I'd just like to say that I think the i9300 lived a very good life. It had many fans. But its time has come, And I'm sure the i9400 will be just as good if not better. lol

went through "Education" and saw the 9300 still available.

Oddly the 9400 comes out hugely overpriced...

Yeah the 9300 is still available in the State & Local Government area, and education.

It is also available in the Dell outlet store for a decent price. Check there if you are looking for a I9300.

Wow, looks like I grabbed one just in time!

I took advantage of the approx. $1000 in free upgrades and discounts... I figure, perhaps, this was Dell's way of clearing out the remaining stock.

I've been very happy with the i9300 so far! (well, at least after I got rid of the Corel Media Indexer, installed by Ventura, which was sucking up processor time like it was going out of style)

I must say, the package that Dell put together for the above mentioned "sale" was spot on. The extended battery is great; extra HD space is appreciated, however, currently unused; Intel 2915 wireless adapter MUCH better than the Intel 2200 adapter from what I can tell (had to replace my wife's Intel 2200 adapter after she saw how well mine performed); bundled software and extended warrenty worked out great for me.

Well, anyway, kudos to Dell for putting together an excellent machine. Sad to see it go, but I suspect the replacements will come down in price eventually.

Glad to hear that you like it. I love my I9300...I don't mind the 2200BG card though, it has never given me any problems and never drops the connection, even when I am in the basement and my router is one the 2nd floor.

Nice to hear people got good blow-out prices. :)

Congrats CtC. I hope you continue to have good luck with your machine.

I'm like USAF. I haven't had very many problems with the 2200 card, but we've had several users complain about it.

I think its sad. The 9300 isn't even a year old yet, and its already been replaced :(

It still works on both the single and duo I think. Unless it's some special bundle deal from Dell.

I think he was talking about some of the first coupons that came out. When the E1705 first began to sell, only the single core would be valid on coupons. Now,the coupons work on both dual and core as you said.

I've read that there are a variety of 2200bg cards floating around... perhaps Gateway stuck me with a version that's... uh... not so good. :(

However, the new 2915abg card, while perhaps a bit of overkill with the 802.11a support (which I won't need) works great. Dropped connections and hiccups have decreased from about 30 a day to 1 a week. I can't complain. :)

Then again, the problem could be some sort of incompatability with my Belkin G mimo capable router.

WRT the 1 year old 9300 being replaced... perhaps they felt they were selling too good a machine for the price. ;) LOL

Yea... the $650 off $1999 coupon works on the E1705 Duo also. Its a great deal! You can get a really nice gamming config for under 1.5k!
