Didn't you just order that thing last week? Has it already shipped?

I won't get mine this week, but I'm hoping it'll at least get past "Build." Fourteen days (and counting) of listening to that stupid recorded voice saying "your order is In Production, and is currently in the Build Stage" is quite enough for me. A couple of weeks of "Boxing" would be a refreshing change.

Yup i did just order it but thats why i got the easy stuff i didnt ask for to much thats why its coming fast i guess..=S but i just got the dell inspiron 1525 in Alpine White with a integrated webcam and all the other stuff that comes with it so practically i just got an original but sexy glossy colour and a dang webcam LoL i think thats why its coming quik because i didnt add alot of features to it but Meh Im Happy !!

It actually shipped already though? You've got a tracking number and all? Or are you just hoping?

 

I'm not too surprised because the Inspiron turn around time is only a few days. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH...when is my laptop going to arrive?

Lol. Inspiron orderers are so lucky. They get theirs so quickly, while we M1530 orderers wait for quite a long time for them...still no light at the end of the tunnel.

 

I ordered mine a week ago today, and it was considered shipped on Wednesday I believe.
I was going to go with one from the xps line but didnt have the money, and could get a discount on the Inspiron. Then I saw the shipping times on top of that lol.

 

I think Dell thought in reverse this time. They expected Inspiron laptops to be more popular than the XPS, because the Inspirons are cheaper. They probably manufactured many more parts for the Inspiron than they did for the XPS. They were caught off guard when people began ordering the XPS like crazy and were soon overloaded, which is why they have such a large backlog of users. Had I actually read this forum before I made the purchase, I would maybe have reconsidered.

 

Meh I wish I was getting my laptop this week. Looks like Dell thinks I need to improve my patience skills some more. 16 days so far and still in Build stage (even though I still refuse to write down this important information...).

 

I have no patients at all when waiting for a new toy. I want to start messing around on Vista and get a hang of it and decide if I like it before I start college.

 

You know, maybe you're onto something. I've continued to defy her instructions to write it down as well. Fourteen days in a row now. Maybe she simply won't authorize the order to proceed until we WRITE IT DOWN LIKE SHE INSTRUCTS US TO!!!!!

It's probably our own fault after all. I'm writing it down next time, just in case.

 

Ditto to that, cant wait for my xps 1530 <33; the anticipation is killing me >_<

 

Lol. I think we are getting a little paranoid. We need to calm down and just wait for our laptops. This is what this forum is for. Bored Dell XPS M1530 customers who haven't received their laptops yet.

 

well it says on my thing that its in production but that was on the 22nd.... then next step is delivery prep then shipped but the in production was on the 22nd i think its really in delivery prep but it wont show that because im guessing its the weekend or what not so im thinking by Tuesday it should be here

 

too bad my notebooks here before yours!

 

LoL plus im not much of a computer person im not sure why im soo excited for ah well!

 

It stays in the Production stage even when to a point it is in shipping.
The ship it from Malaysia to Tennessee. Then it goes to the carrier and their offices before it is delivered to you. That process takes about 4 days it self from what i've experienced.
You should have your system by the end of the week though.

 

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but mine's been "In Production" (specifically "Build") for two weeks. There's a guy on here who has been "In Production" for almost a month now. Doesn't mean they're actually building it.

Hope it comes for you though. Inspirons do seem to come more quickly that XPS's.

yeah its alright but i only got simple things so i think im gonna get mine for sure this week but i will tell you if i dont but Most likely I SHOULD!!

 

"In Production" actually encompasses "kitting", "building", "testing", and "boxing" stages, so you might be a bit too optimistic about getting your laptop this week. Although I think the turn around time for anything other than XPS 1530 is pretty good.

 

Yeah damn holiday weekend. I should be getting my M1530 by Tuesday. =)

 

Yeah, this holiday weekend sucks. Normally I love them, but when im waiting for my laptop, they arent so great

 

Yeah, but when I called DHL they said the EDD was Thursday. I was like... Eh the hub is like 1 hr from my house. They said if it doesn't ship that day. I'm more then welcome to drive my happy ass there and pick it up.

Also forgot to mention.. Grats to everyone else finally getting theirs.

 

That sucks.
The DHL Regional hub that mine was shipped to is within 30minutes of me, and the processing hub is maybe 10minutes away from me, and its been sitting there since friday afternoon. I wish they did normal deliveries on Saturday.

 

Yeah all I know is at least we'll both get it this week finally.

Hopefully it isn't defective and have to wait on a replacement.

I ordered a Inspiron 1720 a week ago today.

 

Nice. My GF has the 1721 (Pink), pretty nice piece of hardware.

I decided to get the m1530, hopefully it lives up to it's name.

 

I should be getting mine. ESD of 5/28 with next day delivery...but its still in build stage. Has been for 4 weeks.

 

I am getting mine by Thursday. It is totally bliss I tell you.. bliss.... I'm so glad my unit didn't actually wait till June 12 to ship.

 

If all goes well, I should get my XPS m1530 this friday.

Next Wednesday 5/28 ESD will have been in production 1 month if not.......

 

You should call them up and milk them for what they're worth. I guess you should explain to them politely at first, but progressively more apparent that you are not too happy. I am sure they'll offer you something to stay in line.

 

I've tried to get freebies out of them. They told me they gave me an upgrade to next day shipping...thats all they can do. After I get it, i'm still going to try and get some free stuff.

 

Just got an email telling me my order has shipped but didn't give me a tracking number. Is that something that'll be updated later?

The shipping method is "Canada Standard" btw.
