I am Dell user for many year, still wonder why Dell did not Introduce 13'3 LCD Notebook, i feel M1210 is to small screen and 640m is too big body, so 13'3 most good idle , balance size and weight i like very much this size... how about your think.. :)

Well, there is no real reason but the fact that the main runners in that category are Sony, Fujitsu and ASUS, of which they can't really match up against in the previous generation. Another point is the screen size, at 12.1", its still usually WXGA, and even at 13.3", its the same size. However, because the fact of the lack of details and announcements that Dell have yet to make, because of that, I would be very cautious and wait for what they have in store, if you are a potential buyer. So that one won't regret their buy after a full spec'ed machine will have been bought. This goes for all technology and buyers, no matter who you are and what you buy :p

Will Dell release a 13.3"? Who knows, but be fore sure they have a plan to 'shut' the gap between their foe's and rivals at HP.

Who knows? They have another gap in their line up that bothers a lot of people...the 15.4" XPS. They don't have one. :(

They haven't for a while...so will they fill the gaps during Santa Rosa releases? Who knows...

Well, Asus has an order for a 14" notebook from Dell. Many people are hoping that it is going to be a 14" XPS model (XPS M1410??) with an 8600mGT.

As for the 13" screen, I think the M1210 should have gotten a 13" screen, because it is certainly large enough to accommodate the extra 1.2". I think the 13" screen may be more expensive to manufacture though.

I thought 13.3" was pretty, well, uncommon compared to the more standard sizes.

The Macbook and Sony SZ have made it a very common screen size.

Yeah, that massive bezel around the M1210 looks pretty bad. I mean in every other way its a sleek current looking laptop. The bezel around the screen makes it look like a early 90's tecra though. I like the full sized keyboard, so id rather they put that extra space to use with a bigger screen, rather then shrink the whole thing down to better accommodate the screen.

I prefer 14.1" laptops. I think 13.3" laptops are useless. They are too big to be ultra portable and too small for anything else.

If anything, the bezel looks massive because it is a small computer. The 700m had a similarly sized bezel, but in person it looked fine.

    Yes, my thoughts exactly.
Besides, DELL already has a wonderful 12.1 series, I really don’t think there is big enough market for an additional 13.3. So why bother?

ya, i ready buyer for new laptop, duo to lack of 13'3 laptop from dell i think of D630 or m1210, but D630 lack of game graphic like 8400m 0r 8600m, and M1210, still feel to small for me, my ex-dell notebook is 6400 so no plan go back to 6400 or 640m again bcos feel very hot air from keyboard specially hot weather at Malaysia and my job required to do on-site support(Network Engineer), maybe just wait litter bit time for santa rose from dell.

FYI i also thinking of Lenovo Y300, Sony C22/C25, NEC S3200 but in Malaysia the distributer can't provide XP pro or Vista business version for me (already come with Vista home by default) and lack performance Intel GMA 950

I don't feel that M1210 is too small. Actually, I was used to a desktop 21” monitor, then got a 14.1 notebook now only using the 12.1 M1210. You'll get used to it.
