If you're a 1420 customer and are perhaps wondering this question, APPARENTLY, there are LESS delays on the 1520 asides from color if you were to say order jet black than the 1420, basically since only the 1420 has a delay on its pre-cut glass, asides from that the combination of other components.

Pshaw! I ordered 3 and 1/2 weeks before you (7/7) and Im not supposed to get mine until AFTER you (8/28)

So you should consider -yourself- lucky! :(

id say the 1520 has more demand and is therefore probally has more construction lines devoted to its building.

I disagree with the assumption that 1520s are built quicker. Since July 9th we've had lcds backordered and colors backordered.

I think your assertion is wrong. 1520 is delayed for a lot of people and for a long time. Now even the black is delayed.

Are you sure that the black lcd's are delayed?? I was just about to cancel my order and order a black one that has a faster EDD than my midnight blue laptop.

i also agree with many of the above posts. i ordered my 1520 on 7/9 and my estimated ship date is 8/28. want to rethink your assertion about 1520s coming out quicker than 1420s?

No because Ive seen a few posts here of people ordering their 1520s in black and getting it in 3-5 days max.

all these dates Dell gives don't make any logical sense at all, I ordered mine the DAY BEFORE you and my EDD is 2 weeks before yours!! (8/14)

yah but I've seen the same type of posts about 1420s too, so go figure...
I've quit trying to make any sort of logical explanation for what Dell has going on right now.
