I have an XPSM1330 LED LCD made by toshiba with id LCD2306. Just out of curiosity I went to the "System Information" tool under accessories in the start menu, and found out that under the +Component+display section it shows that it is running at 1280x800 x 59hertz. I clearly have the settings at 1280x800x60hertz since it is the only one available! Can anybody tell me why is that and if I can do anything to fix it?

I have a second identical XPSM1330 with a different LED-it is SEC5441 made by samsung which looks alot more crisp and sharp, although the colors are off. This system shows it is running at the full 60hertz.

Check your display adapter properties and look for the refresh rate tab or button. There should be an option to change it to 60 hz. Pull down menu or something similar.

There is no option to change it. 60 hertz is the only option available, yet the monitor seems to be stuck at 59hertz.

I am surprised nobody out all of the savy members here are willing to help!

I could care less about 1hz if the screen was clear and crisp w/ no dead pixels etc etc.

PFitto, I responded to one of your other questions... but I'll repeat it here... Tweek the heck out of that Sammy and enjoy it... I hear it's the best one so far.

How come LCD's only have a refresh of 60hz anyway? isnt that kind of limiting?.

No. Do a little reading on refresh rates and LCD displays. Here's a start:
