Why is the new Inspiron design better than the new Studio?

    I'm looking into a 14"

The Inspiron 1464 looks thinner, lighter, better designed than the new studio.
    The studio is heavier, bigger.

Problem is I want the i5-520 but the Inspiron only comes with a i5-430m

The Studio needs to be able to handle the heat output by an i7 processor and an HD4530. The Inspiron only needs to be able to handle the heat output by an i5 and its IGP.

That being said, there probably won't be that much of a difference between the 430 and 520... it's like a 10% and 5% clock speed decrease at stock and turbo speeds.

I would say the design is different because Dell went back and redesigned the Inspiron. The design on the Studio 15 for Best Buy is different than the Studio 15's on Dell's site which leads me to believe a refresh of the Studio design is coming down the pipe soon.
