I've been pricing 1720s for a couple days now, pretty much maxing it out with university discount and using the student discount code for $200 off, and I had it down to around $1750 fully loaded. Just today, when I try to enter my code, it doesn't stack on top of the save $339 coupon anymore. What is going on?

it stopped stacking, maybe because a big sale is on the way. i dono, but if you call them, you might get it stacked. I know i called twice and the second lady got it to work for me.

I called and got it ordered. Such a great deal. 1720 with the 8600 gt, 1920 x 1200 screen, everything else maxed out, 3 years onsite and accidental and theft proetection, for $1616 shipped. (And thats with $100 tax in NC)

i got a 1520 for a similar deal, a 1440x900 screen, t7500, 2 gigs ram, 160 gig 7200 hd, a neoprene case, draft N and all for $1610 with the dreaded california tax of a whopping 140, i hate cali-for-ni-a

Yeah, the coupon stopped stacking for me, too. Could be a slight problem - the price balloons by $170 without the $200 coupon (yet another clue Dell math is strange). And that means what was a pretty good deal suddenly is no better than what Gateway offers. So...I'm glad I recorded the best price I configured for that, could help with negotiating.
Why won't my coupon stack anymore?
