I recently purchased a new E1505 notebook through craigslist, which was sold to me with the brand new notebook, but nothing else...no charger. I bought a 90 watt Targus power charger at Frys Electronics which when plugged into the wall allows me to use my notebook no problem, full power. But if the chord is removed, even after "charging" for hours, has no power.

How can I charge my notebook so i can take it with me?

You probably have a bad battery. I would get a new one through Dell, and if you have enough funds, also a new AC adapter as well.

It's not out of the ordinary for a batter to go bad early, but I would'nt trust a charge that wan't had by/for Dell. Get Dell Stuff to be sure.

I agree with all of the above posts, you will want to use a Dell charger and battery. If the charger will power the notebook on AC, the battery may be dead but you'll need to do a little testing to find out. Find a friend with the same battery & a charger and see what happens.

Or download Notebook Hardware control and see what it says about battery wear, charging, etc.
