    Why would my studio 1558 throttle down this much?

    Sometimes it drops to around 1200mhz and never goes back up until I restart, but today it was the worse, 399mhz!!

    How come it does this? Why isn't there a setting to make it so it never throttles ever? And it's not a power settings issue (power saver, performance etc). I've tried all the obvious stuff.

    Try to reinstall Intel Engine Management Interface Driver?

    You could also disable EIST.

    Whats the temps on the CPU?

    Also your battery is low.Maybe something to do with that too

    It happens when your GPU temperature gets above 108°C
