I just recently swap the 1510 Wireless-N card inside my Studio 1735 with Intel WiFi Link 5300 half-card which uses all the available three antennas instead of two in case of 1510.

There is no problem with the installation process and the card itself works fine, but the strange thing is now the WiFi LED indicator on top of the num pad blinks during usage. I remember correctly that this blinking thing did not happen with Dell 1510 card.

Has anyone done and experience the same thing?

Not exactly the same thing, but I have the Studio 1537 with the Intel WiFi-Link 5100.
Whenever I run Xubuntu Linux from my Flashdrive, the WiFi Light blinks whenever the internet is being accessed, like the HDD access light. It doesn't happen in Windows though.
Your internet connection works though, right? As long as that ok, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yup. The wireless (including internet) connection is OK. I just wonder about this blinking WiFI LED thing, cause it never happens with the original Dell wireless card.

But in your case, 1537 has the newer chipset PM45 which is supposed to be paired with WiFi Link 5100 or 5300 card if it's going to be a Centrino 2 certified platform, while mine is the older PM965 which is normally paired with WiFi Link 4965 to get Centrino certification.

    Anyway, thanks for answering.

Is there anybody else who has an earlier version of Studio 17 or Studio 15 (a.k.a. 1735 or 1535) which wireless card has been changed to Intel 5300 (or 5100)?
