I've got a Studio 1558. Opening it up, there's a WAN slot and a WWAN slot. The WAN slot is the same as the WWAN, except half it's height. Back when this thing was in pieces I gave out the Broadcom half-height card that was in it to a friend for an OSX86 install, thinking I could just pop in their full height Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN card into the WWAN card slot and use that. With up-to-date drivers, the laptop sees the card properly, but gives me an 'Error 10, device cannot start'.

Is it possible to use the wifi card in the WWAN slot, or am I out of luck and just need to buy a new half-height card for the WAN slot?

    Thanks :)

You may need a Dell specific wireless card.
