Anyone notice how long it takes for the wifi to power on after waking the laptop from sleep mode? My 1520 takes about 30 seconds just for the wifi light to even come on.
Anyone have a method to get the wifi to turn on sooner?

if you are talking about the time it takes to get online after wake up from sleep or hibernation mode, the only experience I've had with this situation is from my 1420 with the Dell 1390 card. It would take upwards of 30 seconds after returning from sleep to the point where I could actually get online. My M1330 had no issues with the Intel wifi card. I solved the issue when Dell posted an updated driver for the Dell line of network cards. Unfortunately, they've removed that November driver update for some reason, but I still believe it's on their FTP site.
If you don't have a Dell card, then my two cents worth of advice probably doesn't have anything to do with your issue. Thought I would just throw it out there because when you mentioned upwards of 30 seconds to get the wifi functioning and it happening in sleep or in my case both sleep and hibernation mode, I thought of my 1420 issue which eventually was fixed due to a driver update. -
Dell card. I tried replacing all the network drivers and at first it didn't make a difference but now it seems like it is "turning on" sooner. Now I just have to wait for it to establish the connection.
Sigh. One of the downsides of opting for the cheaper Dell option.
