As the title asks, will Dell ever release Vista 64 with new pc shipments?
HP has been doing this awhile, and with the move to Vista, I'd like to see Dell start doing it, especially when I eventually upgrade my laptop to a newer one.

Not until a) 64-bit driver support is better, and b) more software titles take advantage of a 64-bit OS.
-
But as I understand it, doesn't Vista 64 run 32 bit apps fine?
-
Eh, kinda. There are all sorts of wacky issues, especially with drivers. Unless you are running with more then 3GB of RAM it really isn't worth your time/money. Unless you are doing some serious computation work I would stay away from 64 bit Vista (well vista in general till SP1).

when support gets better then it will introduce it

It has been reported that 4 GB of RAM is about to become standard on Dell's premium laptops:

This led me to wonder if Dell is getting ready to offer Vista 64 bit. -
Vista 64 works fine with my 1520. I haven't had a problem yet, stable as a rock.
But Vista 64 is a bit difficult to get working. There are so many issues that non computer literate people will have to deal with that I think it is right for Dell not to support 64 Vista. -
Will Dell ever include 64-bit Vista with new pc's?
