Does anyone know if Dell (either their page or other stores who sell Dell Laptops) will be having any Cyber Monday deals?

Also, does Dell (again or other stores, online or in the USA), typically offer any sales either before or after x-mas?
    Thank you for your help!

    Usually yes.

Do know that even if they give you 99% off, it is meaningless if their starting price is $1,000,000.

You should rather have a good sense of what specs you want, and survey prices across the industry. Then you will know if the deal is actually a good one, or a marketing scheme that makes it look cheap, but in reality not at all.

    A good point.
Are you suggesting Dell prices are too high to begin with? Should I be looking for d different brand?

In my general experience, Dell offered one of the lowest prices. When selecting a brand, it comes down to design, warranty, and price. All the components inside are really the same, depending on what you choose.

I like Dell's warranty on rather mid-high range machines. Designs... well it depends on what you buy.

If you are set up on getting a Dell, like me all the time, just make sure around the ball park what constitutes "cheap" price for the kinds of components you want.

I actually Google'd this earlier and found them..

Cyber Monday Laptop and Desktop Doorbuster Deals | Dell

Their "Cyber Monday" deals are meh. I've been considering the Inspiron 15R and $529 isn't that great. I've seen it on sale in stores for that price throughout the year.

Laptops go on sale all the time. I think their "Back To School" sales in August/September were better than what I've seen for Black Friday/Thanksgiving/Cyber Monday.

Yup like i said. Dell Outlet is a great place to buy. Always wait for the 20% off coupon. They bloat up the price when that coupon pops up, but usually it's still 10% or so off.

so when i see 20% off, then i should not buy because their prices are too bloated?

Newbie, they are really all the time all year around. Dell's profit has been hit so I doubt any major pricing change to come.

PC prices are so subjective. If specs are out of your budget, I would recommend Dell Outlet. Really the same thing/warranty for 20-30% off the new price.

Right. They're on sale all the time. Lots of sales up until Christmas, then the day after Christmas and again a few weeks later. These Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are kind of bs. Best Buy has a Dell Inspiron 15 on sale this weekend for $259..which is super cheap, yeah..But who the hell wants 2gb of ram?

For the specs I'm looking for, I am still looking around the $500 range and I've been watching for months. I also recommend the outlet. I could've gotten a decent one today for $350 but I didn't like the video card and the fact that it didn't even have an integrated web cam. The cheaper they are the cheaper the specs.

If it's not urgent that you get one this week then you might as well keep saving your money and wait until you see something you really like.

I hope that I can find some help here, I am looking for a Laptop that I will be using for work, and don't need anything too fancy, just good quality and reliable. I am not in a rush to buy this laptop (i have quite a few months to buy it), but if there are any Cyber Monday deals that are ideal - then I am ready to purchase soon too.

    1) What is your budget? Best Value Please (under $1,000 but hopefully lots under that if everything else fits.

    2) What size notebook would you prefer? 14", 15", 16" or more

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? USA (online)

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? N/A

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? I would consider it, yes.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? I will be graduating dental school soon and need a new laptop. I will use it for typing reports for patients, online billing to insurance companies (and bill paying) and something to take when giving talks to the public - such as power point presentations.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Mostly leaving it at the office. Maybe taking it home each night, and sometimes out for a power point presentation. But, if this question is asking about weight, that does not matter to me.

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? no

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need? not sure, the more the better but as long as it's over a few hours that should be fine.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK? I am okay to buy without seeing it.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc. I have only ever used Windows, so I guess that would be the ideal one for me.

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. Everyone is different. Some like really small text, while others like their text big and easy to read. Click here for Screen resolution information. I like small text.

    13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen? I am okay with either (and have owned both), so the lower cost of the two would be most ideal.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? I want something to look nice, not something trashy or junky looking. But no, I don't care much about the color or style or any of those things.

    15) When are you buying this laptop? I was wondering if there may be a Cyber Monday Sale that I could take advantage of, and if not I have a few months to make the purchase.

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last? I would like something reliable that can last a long time without having many problems. I would like quite a few years out of this laptop. Not sure what a realistic number of years would be to use a laptop and not have troubles with it....but 5+ years would be great!

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 640GB? Do you want a SSD drive? Without storing games or movies on the laptop, I don't imagine I need that much space. Lots of Power Point and Documents on there may add up a lot over time, but I can always buy an external Hard Drive if I need to in the future - so again, whatever the best price is, i will take.

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?
DVD Player is needed, not a burner and not a Blu-Ray, unless it is similar in cost to the DVD player.

Thank You to all in advance who may be able to help!
