    Hi Folks,

I stuck a 2TB Seagate HDD in my Precision M3800 laptop, and it's been working great. However, now, after a few months with it in there, my trackpad has started to push up above the palmrests, it's difficult to click, etc. There's been other work done to the machine, so this may not be the problem... but I wonder if I've stuck a 9.5mm drive in a bay that should only accept a 7mm slim drive. Anyone know? I've searched around everywhere, but I can't find the drive height spec for this machine anywhere. Any help greatly appreciated!

If it should accept a 9.5mm-tall drive, then I'll call support (it's still under warranty). But if not, then I'll have to figure this out myself...

    Thanks!

Yes, it should definitely be a 7mm hard drive in the Precision M3800, it's confirmed in this quite detailed upgrade video on YouTube (skip to 5:23 time in video):
