    Will changeing thermal paste void warranty?

    I just got my second 1545 and and it runs a good 10 degrees C' hotter than the first. I saw it hit 70 degree spike with real temp just idling.

    Quick edit: just checked the heatsink and the screws weren't tightened down..

    Still want to change the thermal paste.

    Most likely it would void your warrenty, but they will never know that you applyed it. So go for it like I did.

    I've applied thermal paste and swapped processors on my Studio 15 more times than I can count. Dell has never given it a second glance.

    As long as you don't screw anything up or cause damage by doing it, Dell will most likely not care.
