Will my Sept 6 date be pushed back? PINK 1520

I haven't heard of anyone receiving a pink 1520 lately. Is it pretty clear that my date will probably be pushed back?

 

probably not, as your lid delays have already been calculated into your ETA. I wouldnt be surprised if you got it before that date.

 

I wouldn't have your heart set on the Sept 6th date.

While the delays on various components have already been calculated in, there are plenty of people whose laptops were delayed beyond their estimated ship date.

My order was estimated to ship a month after I ordered it, and that included delays for my screen size. Since I placed the order the colored lids have gone on backorder and that is probably holding up my order, even though it wasn't a listed delay in my original order.

Welcome to the world of lean manufacturing. They won't start gathering your components until your backordered item has become available. At that point you are at the mercy of the inventory gods - hopefully at that point they have all your other pieces. If, like in my case, something else has become backordered then your order goes back to waiting and your ship date gets delayed.

 

I ordered everything minimal and standard, so hopefully it will go out when the lid comes in.

 

Mine went to Testing today, I ordered a little earlier than you, but maybe the pink lids are finally catching up.

i hope it does.mine has an ESD of sept 6 also.i hope it comes by then, because its not like the 8/28 date, not many people have it.also, when did you order?

I feel kind of deceived by Dell. I just looked at the site, and they now have estimated delays based on the color you choose. Pink has a 16 day delay. This was not listed when I placed my order...though granted the ETD has not yet changed. I just didn't believe that pink could have been that popular of a color, and I thought my other options weren't too crazy. I don't need a webcam, etc. I really need the laptop and the sooner, the better.

We must have placed our orders around the same time since it was listed as 9/6 a day or two before I made my final decision to go through with the transaction. Best of luck with yours.

 

I agree...they should have had this list up as soon as possible. I originally ordered not that long ago and there was no indication that the colors would delay my order (though I was in the Yellow category, not pink! ). It is good to know that they are starting to have exact dates and time estimates though. Maybe they are finally getting it under control?

Alas, I already opted for an Outlet version of my 1521 anyway...

 

Mine says Sept 06 as well.
Ordered 1420 on the 17th, picked everything without delay.
