after I have formatted the whole drive (written the drive with zeros using KillDisk)?
I'm too scared to try pushing the button![]()
-
it's not a self destruct button. just push it and run away really fast.
-
*killed Media Direct partition months ago*
*pushes Media Direct button for several times of varying lengths*
*waits*
Nope, didn't blow up. It doesn't do anything once you've gotten rid of Media Direct. -
You could d/l Ubuntu life-disc, boot with that and format the partition. Might also be possible with windows though.
-
you laptop will self destruct after reading this sentence. Just to let you know, 4 seconds have passed
... 1... 0!
nope nothing... -
Lol, I know (and never said it would blow up or anything
).
It's just that I've heard about people who have messed up their MBR when pushing the MediaDirect Button when they have not had it installed. -
Hehe...funny....
I really don't think pushing the MD bottom w/o MD is going to cause you any problems. However, since you have MD uninstalled, you might as well assign that bottom to something else (wmplayer or IE maybe?)...since you have the bottom there, why no use it?
For me, I'm actually quite fond of MD...can listen to music or watch movie w/o having to boot up vista...and saves battery too... -
Yea pushing the MD button with no MD does nothing... I just pushed it like 15 times
-
You might have to reboot
.
Will pushing the MediaDirect button destroy my harddrive..
