I was wondering with windows XP media center can you hook up the pc to your tv and record or burn dvd's of your favorite tv show. Would you need special cables and tv connectors?

You can use a TV tuner to go directly from your coaxial cable (cable TV) to your notebook. You can then record shows, set timed recordings, etc.

The only special connectors you need would be a TV Tuner kit - currently, your only choice (for m1210 or e1405) would be to get a USB one. It should have all the cables in the box.
