Does anyone know if dell will be refreshing or coming out with new models to replace the e1405 or e1505 anytime soon? I remember the current 14 inch laptop came out sometime late 2005.

If it's going to happen, sometime in May or June when the Santa Rosa platform comes out would be a good time. They might just choose to keep the basic E1405 and E1505 as they are though and upgrade the internals.

I'm thinking that Dell will redo the externals as well...HP is cleaning them out and while looks are not everything, Del knows that HP is beating them on looks and quite possibly price/performance ratios in the mid-range notebooks. I'd take a dv6000 sooner than a e1505...

I have created a Dell Santa Rosa thread. I hope it becomes a sticky in this forum. If you have any questions, you should post it in the thread titled, "Santa Rosa Thread."

As you can see, I'm not a mod or anything, so you don't have to. :p

As others have said, May / June is when Dell will refresh their lineup.

I have a e1505. Sure is ugly. Works good though.

From the current Deals / discounts offered by dell it seems hard that this dell line will be changed in May/June. Santa Rosa support will be there but doubt the looks will change. Maybe a new sticker design.

all their laptops have the same look. so if they change the look of one, they will have to update all their laptops to maintain a uniform look?

I kinda like the ho-hum look of the inspiron line, it doesnt scream steal me, I get a little paranoid with all the gawkers my M1210 attracts.
