Will this 2gb A-data ram work with my Inspiron 6400?
    http://www.dospara.co.jp/goods_pc_parts/goods_pc_parts_spec.php?ic=79712

Also, I'm currently using ram that originally came with my laptop. The specs are 1GB,DDR2,533MHZ,2 DIMM,I6400/E1505.

I am a total newbie when it comes to single and dual channel stuff. If I install the 2gb ram, will there be some problems because it's not exactly the same as the 1gb ram?

    Thanks.

yes. The inspiron 6400 is made on the NAPA platform. It supports DDR2-667 aka PC2-5300

Yes, it should work fine. No, there will not be any issues replacing the 1GB with the 2GB. You'll notice a substantial increase in performance.

    Thanks guys.

But I want to add the 2gb in addition of the 1gb, instead of the 2gb replacing the 1gb. Would there be any problems if I add the 2gb to the 1gb?

As long as your machine has two different RAM slots (which it should... but I'm not familiar with your model) then you shouldn't have a problem. :)
