DDR3? did they even make it with DDR3? Would that be why the 256 is more expensive then the 512? Would the DDR3 be more benificial then increased DDR2 Capacity? I'm guessing yes from what I've read but I could be wrong. Thanks guys.

That won't work in an Inspiron 1720, and no... it's not a misprint.
It's an MXM card for an Asus.
Dell's modular 8600GTs are proprietary, not MXM, and yes they were only made with DDR2.
On a midrange card like an 8600GT you won't be able to push the resolutions and textures that 512MB of GRAM would be able to provide, and faster memory would benefit you, so I would much much much rather have a 8600M GT GDDR3 than an 8600M GT GDDR2.
Will this work in the Inspiron 1720? or is it a misprint?
