Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 will be available to everybody in March 2008. Would you be upgrading right away? What are your concerns?

    A totally slanted poll.

Vista is far from unusable. It's got problems but to say it is unusable is an ignorant statement.

This is a Dell forum. Most Dell laptops come equipped with Vista or XP, so if you wish to praise Ubuntu, do it else where.

No, he's right. Slanted poll. Both options, yes and no, assume Vista currently sucks. One outright states it, and the other implies it.

I voted removed by moderator ... not sure what it was, but I probably agree with it.

I'm not "ready" for vista at the moment.

I don't know if I'll be installing the service pack right away or not, I'll probably wait for some feedback. Vista is nowhere near as bad as people make it sound.

None of the options applied to me. The first two are a little bit exaggerated.

I will, just not yet. once it gets more benchmarks and reviews out then i'll decide if i want/need it.

I agree. people bash vista cause it's 'the thing to do' same thing happened with XP when it came out. people we're all "XP sucks, i have 512 ram and it is slow!!! i'm sticking with 98SE." ..blah blah.

I have yet to have any real problems with vista. little things yeah. but what OS doesn't have little problems? none.

For the amount of options to choose from in the poll, it's funny that none reflect my view.

Currently using sp1 and have been for a few weeks on various machines, it's quite simply a godsend.
Any problem I did have I don't any more. Not that it wasn't great to begin with.

Eventually, yes, but Vista is working fine right now, and has far fewer security problems than Linux, and appears to be more current than CP/M and Mosaic, too!

This kinda of a no-brainer answer. Kind of a useless poll.

I voted 'Yes' but I will wait until it's been out for 3 months before I upgrade. If there are no reported major issues, I will upgrade. If there are still problems, I will wait another 3 months. Rinse and repeat.

This tactic has served me well with XP.

I am more interested in XP SP3 than I am in Vista SP1. XP is extremely responsive on my system and remains my preferred OS when I'm doing application / Office development. Vista is good for DX10 and does not offer me much else that I need.

I am slowly migrating to Vista, where I have Office 2007 installed. Unforunaetly, I develop for Office 2003 so I will have to create a VMWare machine with XP and Office 2003 installed and run that from Vista if I ever fully migrate.
