I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I would be willing to pay some money to have someone fix the loose and wobbly lcd screen on my Dell Inspiron e1405.

I've done so much as to take the screws off and take the front bezel to tighten them, but that only helped a little bit, still a little wobbly...

Prefer someone in California so I don't have to ship out, but we'll see where this takes me...

I had a similar problem with my e1505 when the bezel cracked (extreme case). The hinges which are held upright by the bezel subsequently collapsed, so I (in a fit of rage) superglued them (the hinges) to the back of the case of the screen. Solution not recommended (not that you asked). :D

I had this issue with my 6400. I ended up resolving to eBay and I purchased a lid cover. Got it, transfered my screen over and that solved the problem. Regardless of how you tighten the screws, the hinges that connect to the back of the lid is probably getting old, and as a result, is starting to loosen. Try to check eBay for a good price and look for a service manual and do it yourself. It's not that difficult. I think the hardest part would be finding a good lid for a good price. Good luck. :)

My 6400 is going on 2 1/4 years old. My screens wobbles, not too bad, but it's definitely gotten worse.

I may just hit up Computers Plus (where I bought the machine, with warranty) to see if I can get a replacement cover.

Haha that sounds like a good idea but i'm guessing something a little more sturdy than card will work better as the card will wilt?
