I was wondering if anyone has tried windows 8 64 bit on a 1720 and if so what drivers did you use.

Well I have yet to try it as I currenly have w7 x64 on my 1720. I am currently waiting for another processor to put in it and as soon as I get the beast I'll post the install of win8. I do not suspect that there will be any issues as I did not have any issues with the win7 x64. The drivers for win7 and vista x64 should be fine. (At least that is what microso$t says) If you want to find out what will and will not work you can go here: [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/en-US/CompatCenter/Home[/URL] and just look for the device drivers that are in the laptop....

Hi,
If the system hardware configuration meets the requirement criteria for Windows 8, you may try installing it. Windows 8 will install native drivers for most of the devices. If some devices are left out without installing the driver you may run the Windows update. After completing the update if any devices are left out you can try the win7 and vista x64 as suggested by ‘zanthros’.
Thanks and Regards
