Can I get folks who have the Studio 15 w/ATI post their WEI numbers? I'm concerned the Studio 15z from Best Buy is actually beating the 1558 and that disappoints me.
Thanks.

How come your rating for RAM is so low?
As far as I know, the same RAM components are used in my 1557 and your 1558.. -
With whats in sig.

For you two that have posted so far, clean install of Windows or Dell's install? -
Clean install here. Its the only way to go

I see yours is made by Elpida.Mine is made by Samsung.I reckon that could be the difference.
Maybe run some other memory benches and check back.
Everest has some good mem benches in it. http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en&page=11 -
Can I get a few people with Studio 1557 & 1558's post there SPD information from CPU-Z?
Thanks. -
Need to look at mine. Will post when I can CAL.

You can always overclock the ATI's with a vbios flash
should increase your scores pretty well. But WEI really isn't a very good benchmark. You'd get a better idea with 3DMark06 or Vantage.

Is your ram 1333Mhz, from the screen shot it seems like its 667mhz or im reading it incorrectly -
-
I have 1333Mhz ram as well and have the studio 1747 and ill check to see if CPU-Z reports it as 1333Mhz when I get home from work. -
How are you getting a Graphics Score of 5.3.
I only manage 4.9 on my 1557?
Are you over clocking the GPU? -
@WildmanCAL - What speed does the QPI Link run on your i5 cpu?
@techifan1 - Yes it was overclocked -
Your ram is dual channel which means it runs two channels at 667MHz. So if you add 667+667 you get 1334MHz. Also there is standard multiplier for ddr3 of 16 so keep that number in your head for a minute. The QPI link speed is the speed at which the two or more cores using hypertransport technology transfer data. QPI is a direct link between the cores. the easiest way to tell the speed of you ram is to look at the pc number of the ram. ddr2 PC6400 = 800 MHz with a standard multiplier of 8 you take 800 x 8 and get 6400. simple. ddr3 has a standard multiplier of 16 so 530 x 16 = roughly 8500 comes to PC8500. So if you can find it even if you have to open your computer you'll know for sure what it is using that number. 1333MHz will be PC10660, PC10666, or PC10700. Now that I've looked at the CPU-Z thats been posted you are running 1333MHz ddr3. In my CPUID you'll see i have the same information with a little more ram. I also have the system information pulled up to show the speed of my ram.
@techifan- I'm just bought this studio 1558 and I am trying to figure out how to overclock the cpu and the gpu. the gpu I haven't tried yet but is tons of information on it. the cpu i am having trouble figuring out. i got a laptop with a core i3 specifally because its line of cpus is supposed to automatically overclock when need but i don't have the turbo boost feature can u give me any leads?Attached Files:
