I am having problems with corrupt files on my Dell 1737 (even though I have only had it just over a month) and when I try to get support from Microsoft it keeps saying there is a problem with the PID No.

The problem is that the control panel keeps freezing and after running their sfc/scannow as on their forums it is still happening it has a gigantic log and I do not understand it. All I do know is it states there was a number of corrupt files that cannot be rectified. All the rest is gobbly gook to me.

Also when I click on the Dell Support to do either the PC Automated Tune Up or check for any updates the laptop keeps saying I am not connected to the internet. - Hey aren't I connected now then plus I was on the Microsoft site when trying to do the check up.

Any urgent suggestions please as I need to get this laptop up and running properly.

    Please help.

Well, if enough stuff is corrupted such that it prevents the machine from functioning normally, I imagine your best bet would be to reinstall your OS. You could also trying doing a System Restore if this is something that started happening recently. If those don't help, you may have a failing hard drive, and you may have to get it replaced.
